Day visits to Afriski (in season) early June until end Aug, will depart regularly from the Maluti Tours & Afriski Booking office premises 367, Main Street, Clarens. Out of 'snow' season trips available year round to Afriski for a spectacular scenic drive in the Maluti Mountains with lots of photographic opportunities and lunch at the highest restaurant in Africa at 3010 meters above sea level! We offer reliable transport via the mountain Pass to the Afriski resort - bring your warm gear and passport, we will take care of the rest!
Our vehicle carries 6 persons (we don't overload on icy roads in the mountains) and the cost of the full Kombi is shared between 6 pax
Should there be less than 6 pax on a trip, we divide the fee between the number of persons travelling. Departure time 6.15am- return to Clarens approx 5-30pm/6pm. As always, this trip is 'weather permitting' as some days the Pass is actually closed due to heavy snow or dangerous conditions.
For Summer Tours to the highest restaurant we depart 9.am and return to Clarens approx 5.30pm

Sheep and goats congregating on the road high in the mountains of Lesotho. Animals have the right of way and a little patience is rewarded with this beautiful scene which we don't see everyday.
Affords the visitor an opportunity to enjoy pony trekking with a local guide in stunning scenery, duration of Trek approx 3 hours
Returning to base for a 3 course lunch (included in our fee) however drinks are extra.
Time to relax after lunch on the beautiful deck or if the trails are beckoning, take one of five hiking trails and enjoy some bird spotting while soaking up the peace and tranquility.
Alternatively ramble down to the rock pools nearby and spend the afternoon relaxing by the river.
At approx 4pm we begin the drive back to the border and are due back in Clarens in time for supper.
Please note; Due to insurance requirements we are unable to include children under 12 years on the pony trek.
The package includes transport, entrance fee, pony trek (3hr) and a three course lunch. Drinks ordered at the venue will be charged to each guest.

Beautiful Liphofung Cave
Maluti Tours will arrange visits to villages along this route, our Guide will make sure
our guests are taken good care of and ensure an interesting and memorable visit.
Maluti Tours will plan a combination of Village, Scenic and Local Interest visits where you will
walk with your Guide and meet and greet the local people. Enjoy being able to
engage with the Basotho people who will always give a warm welcome to our
visitors. Maluti Tours is aware that some of our guests may not come this way again
which gives all the more reason to make sure the day is filled with fun and interesting
content. Something to take on board as a memorable experience.
Maluti Tours Day visit to Liphofung Caves and Historical Site – this tour leaves Clarens 8-30am and proceeds via Fouriesburg to the border post with Lesotho. Enjoy traveling through the tiny villages to reach the Historical Site where a local guide will show you around and explain about the Cave and the San Art that you will see. You may also visit the Cultural Village and no visit is complete without popping in to their tiny shop where only items made by the local people are on sale. Proceeds from the shop go directly to help sustain the families who live there.
From Liphofung we drive up into the Maluti Mountains so that you are able to enjoy the stunning views from an altitude of approx 2800 metres…we will make stops along the way where it is safe to do so for photographs…our destination is the New Oxbow Lodge for lunch (optional) and then return to enjoy beautiful views on the way back down the mountain pass. We expect to be back at the border post around 4-30 – 5pm .
